Frequently Asked Questions
How does the CERIC Method work?
The CERIC Method teaches students to read scientific literature through four key elements: Claims, Evidence, Reasoning, and Interpretation in Context. Each course builds on the last, taking learners from identifying basic elements to conducting independent critique and presentation of research articles.
What do students learn?
Students learn to identify the core components of a scientific paper, evaluate the quality and relevance of evidence, compare findings across studies, and present their analysis with confidence. By the capstone course, they can independently read, assess, and discuss primary literature in their field.
The Book
Our guide to the CERIC Method is coming to print from Cambridge University Press. The book gives students, educators, and researchers a structured framework for evaluating scientific literature.

Who are the courses designed for?
Our courses are built for undergraduate, graduate, and professional students across all scientific disciplines. They are especially valuable for first-generation students, English language learners, and anyone who has not had formal training in reading primary literature.
Can I try a course before committing?
Yes. Course 01 (Introduction to the CERIC Elements) is available for free. Start there to see how the method works, then continue with the remaining courses or the full bundle.
